The velvet-blue sky with twinkling stars turned in and the yellowish orange sun came out to play. The day lighted up as the colossus sphere of intense heat shone the first ray of dawn and the birds began to croon their beautiful songs. The calendar on my wall showed that it was the first day of April and I was sure it would an exciting day ahead as it was the dreaded day of pranks and joke.
Everything went according as planned. Before school assembly even started, the early bird, Glen, already crept into the classroom. Running on her skittish legs like ostrich’s, she placed some hideous looking rubber cockroaches and lizards in the drawer where the attendance file was kept. “What on earth is happening here?!” enquired Ms. Lee. The whole bunch of us answered the question with different answers. “Cool down, Kelly, Tell me what happened?” I pointed at Ms. Kwok, lying, not moving, she let out a gasp and called for help.
Stricken with guilt, everyone in the class crowded around Ms. Kwok. Out of a sudden, Ms. Kwok’s big eyes snapped open without warning as she let out a laugh.
“Happy April Fool, 5Hum!” Ms. Kwok smirked. “Kelly, Go and tell Ms. Lee I’m alright. I was just playing a fool.”
